Privacy Policy: NewCAJE.org Assures Your Privacy.

The New Coalition for Alternatives in Jewish Education wants you to know that any information you share with us is in good hands. This statement details privacy practices for our websites, NewCAJE.org and CAJE.org. Our policies conform to recognized principles of disclosure and informed consent.

First, let’s understand something: whenever you use the Internet or the World Wide Web, you’re sharing information.

Here's why: When you use email or visit a website, your computer "talks" with other computers. Each computer asks the others questions, and information passes among them. Except for commands and any detailed information you type in yourself, most of this process runs automatically and just saves you the bother of entering all kinds of technical codes. That's what makes the Web so easy to use.

In recent years, though, concerns about privacy and identity security have become a major topic on the news.

At NewCAJE.org, we believe you're entitled to make informed decisions when you share information with us. The questions and answers below should cover most frequently asked questions regarding privacy and security. If you have additional questions, please send your questions to webmaster@NewCAJE.org, and a participant of our staff will respond to your concerns.

9. Do NewCAJE.org and/or CAJE.org and the servers on which NewCAJE.org and/or CAJE.org operate have in place systems and procedures to safeguard against hackers, electronic intrusion, viruses, Trojan horse software, malware, time bombs, etc.? Are these kept up to date?

Non-sensitive portions of NewCAJE.org and/or CAJE.org are protected from intrusion by the perimeter firewall and other internal server security measures of
the company which hosts our website on its servers. The active conference area of NewCAJE.org and/or CAJE.org is protected by separate measures, including firewall, antivirus software and full server security with weekly updates. A valid SSL certificate is in place, and visitors must use a browser enabled for 128-bit encryption protection.

10. How are credit card transactions on NewCAJE.org handled? What 3rd party is involved? What information does NewCAJE retain and store?

All financial transactions for NewCAJE conference registrations are handled by FedWeb (FedWeb.com), the Internet transaction system established by the Jewish Federations of North America, and specifically, the e-Commerce module available through FedWeb. The specifics, Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Policy of FedWeb and the Jewish Federations of North America, Inc. (JFNA) are delineated at https://www.fedweb.org/, and NewCAJE encourages those registering for NewCAJE conferences to access and read those policies.

The financial institutions processing your payment may send us supplemental information if there is a problem in completing the transaction. This information is used only in processing your application to attend a conference, or in the process of fulfilling your order for materials available through NewCAJE.org.

8. How do I contact NewCAJE with any questions about this policy?

If you have any questions about this privacy statement, the practices of this site, or your dealings with this website, contact webmaster@NewCAJE.org.

Use the links on our Help page to contact us. In addition, you can write to us at webmaster@NewCAJE.org with comments or to ask for information about this privacy policy. Any e-mail you send us is kept confidential and will not be posted on NewCAJE.org and/or CAJE.org without your written permission.
